Sustainability at ITRIS – Repair, Don't Dispose; Save Energy, Don't Waste It

As a large company with operations in various countries, we strive to assume social, environmental, and corporate responsibility and to be a role model in terms of sustainability. Our focus is not solely on environmental sustainability. This is just one aspect that is central to our overall ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) framework.

Environmental

Regarding environmental sustainability, ITRIS has implemented a variety of measures to reduce our ecological footprint and promote the economical use of resources and environmentally conscious behavior. Among other things, we collaborate with the Energy Agency for the Economy (EnAW) and the Department of Construction, Transport and Environment (BVU) of the Canton Aargau to define energy-saving targets. Social

Our company thrives on the people who work here. Therefore, we place great importance on the well-being of our employees. The health of our employees and workplace safety are paramount to us. For this reason, working conditions are continuously analyzed and optimized. Good relationships with our partners and customers are also very important to us.

Governance

Our values, aspirations, and visions are bindingly defined in our mission statement. Competence, fairness, and partnership with customers are the pillars upon which we build. Through our Code of Conduct, our employees commit to upholding the highest moral and ethical standards. Furthermore, all employees attach great importance to adhering to ethics and conduct guidelines. Through the ISO certification of some of our companies, we also aim to standardize our corporate processes.

Sustainability within the ITRIS Group

Sustainability has been an important part of ITRIS since its founding. The economical and cost-conscious use of resources, as well as environmentally conscious behavior, has always been our top priority.

Solar Panels at Our Headquarters

In addition to the renovation of our roof in summer 2023, our headquarters were equipped with solar panels to be prepared for the future and to cover a portion of our electricity consumption in a sustainable way. A total of 372 panels were installed over an area of 726 m², providing an annual output of approximately 155,150 kWh. This reduces our dependence on fossil fuels.

CO2-Neutral District Heating instead of Natural Gas

By connecting to Limeco's district heating network in Dietikon, we have benefited for several years from this forward-looking and sustainable energy supply. This central heat source utilizes waste heat from the waste incineration plant, allowing us to heat almost CO2-neutrally. This enables us to forgo the use of natural gas and reduce our CO2 consumption.

Sustainability at Our Locations

With various power-saving measures and the use of energy-efficient devices within our locations, we contribute to reducing our company's energy consumption. We have also implemented various disposal concepts for our locations to ensure that generated waste is separated and professionally recycled. Additionally, our employees benefit from electric charging stations at our headquarters in Spreitenbach and in Reinach.

Conscious Actions of Our Employees

In their daily work, our employees strive to minimize all types of environmental impact and promote sustainability through their conscious actions. Minimizing electricity consumption is also increasingly a focus for us. The use of modern, highly efficient equipment also leads to further savings in electricity consumption. We also rely on renewable energies wherever possible.

Long-Term Device Support: Repair instead of Dispose

As a service provider in hardware maintenance, the long-term use of devices is important to us. We repair devices and handle the maintenance of a variety of older equipment, even if it has long since ceased to be supported by the manufacturer. This allows us to conserve resources and reduce waste. Furthermore, we have several spare parts warehouses throughout Switzerland, enabling us to carry out long-term repairs on older devices without parts having to be shipped from all over the world.

Sustainable Solutions & Digitalization

Through various digitalization solutions and our support for companies in their digitalization efforts, we also ensure a lower consumption of paper and other consumables. Our collaboration solutions also enable location-independent cooperation, thus helping to prevent unnecessary travel. Furthermore, we advise our customers, especially in the data center sector, on how they can reduce their energy consumption.

Through thorough analysis of our consumption and the consistent implementation of various saving measures, we have made great progress in reducing our electricity consumption in recent years.

Some of our concrete measures for environmental protection:

In collaboration with the Energy Agency for the Economy (EnAW) and the Department of Construction, Transport and Environment (BVU) of the Canton Aargau, we have set energy-saving targets for the next 10 years. We have defined 19 measures over the total duration and have consistently met the targets each year without problems.

Implementation of a variety of optimizations at our locations. By raising awareness among all employees and installing energy-saving LED lamps and motion detectors, we were able to reduce our consumption by 30-40%.

In summer 2023, the entire roof of the headquarters in Spreitenbach was equipped with solar panels. This will allow us to cover a portion of our electricity needs with solar energy in the future.
